GOTS, FSC, Oeko-Tex — What Do They Actually Mean?
Certification
GOTS, FSC, Oeko-Tex — Decoded
What the certifications on D&L products actually guarantee.
GOTS — Global Organic Textile Standard
The world’s leading organic textile certification. To display the GOTS label, every stage of the supply chain must meet strict criteria: cotton grown without synthetic pesticides or GMOs, no toxic bleaching agents, wastewater treatment, fair labor standards, and annual independent auditing.
FSC — Forest Stewardship Council
Applies to our wood pulp absorption core. FSC ensures wood comes from responsibly managed forests that protect biodiversity, worker rights, and indigenous peoples’ rights, with full chain of custody from forest to product.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Tests finished textile products for 100+ harmful substances including pesticide residues, heavy metals, formaldehyde, and pH. Particularly important for products worn close to skin — providing an additional safety verification beyond production-process certifications.
